This note was issued to commemorate the coronation of King Norodom Sihamoni, the current King of Cambodia. King Norodom Sihamoni was born on 14.05.1953 and also the eldest son of the former King Norodom Sihanouk and Queen Norodom Monineath Sihanouk. He became king of Cambodia on 14.05.2004 following the surprise abdication of his father King Norodom Sihamoni a week earlier. Prior to his accession to the thrown, he was the Cambodia ambassador to UNESCO since 1993.
