Total commemorative banknotes issued is under 1,500 pieces. If you have achieved any figures close to this, then you are doing extremely well, as many of the older commemorative notes are hard to find even in poor conditions.

Opinion: Many collectors of commemorative banknotes would have come across with those Somaliland sets overprinted with gold and silver texts with the following wordings - 5th Anniversary of Independence 18 May 1996 [Sanad Gurade 5ee Gobanimadda 18 May 1996]. I believe these are "home made" (or fake) and not authorised by the central bank. My argument is simple. No central bank would have issued an overprint commemorative banknote that the texts are so large that it would cover the two signatures on the note as well as part of the serial numbers. Even if these are genuine notes, then these could be issued as souvenir sheets and not as legal tender. As I said before, this is my opinion. If you have paid top dollars for these, please think about my argument. There is always a sucker around the corner, including me of course!

All comments are most welcome but it has to be subjects related to banknotes or banknotes collection. If not, it will not be approved. Thanks

Republica De Honduras
(Republic of Honduras)
Banco Central De Honduras
(Central Bank of Honduras)
Currency - Lempira (HNL)
This is a 200 lempiras commemorative note released on 01.09.2021. This note was issued to celebrate the country's 200th year of independence. Independence day is celebrated on the 15th of September. Spain granted Honduras's independent in 1821 and became part of the First Mexican Empire until 1823, where it joined the United Provinces of Central America. This union later fell apart and Honduras became independent on 05.11.1838.
It was reported that 30 million pieces were issued in 2021 and with another 20 million pieces to be made available in 2022. The imprinter firm is G+D Currency Technology, which is also printed on the back of the note.
Honduras is a country located in Central America. It shares a common border with Guatemala to the west, El Salvador on the Southwest and Nicaragua to the south. Honduras is one of the few countries in the Americas that have access to the Pacific Ocean and the Caribbean sea/Atlantic Ocean. Independence from the Spanish was achieved on 15.09.1821. The Spanish had occupied Honduras since the mid 1500s.
Two Hundred Lempiras
Flag raising ceremony, Government House
The design of this note is completely new.
On the front, it depicts a group of students celebrating the flag rising and beneath them an open book with the word EDUCACION (education). On the right is the CASA DE COBIERO DE LA PROVINCIA DE HONDURAS (Government house of the province of Honduras) and followed by the year 1821 - ANO 1821). On the top right corner, is printed with '200 ANO' (200 years). Viva la Independencia (long live Independence) is printed on the bottom right.
On the back, it features a pair of Ara Macao (Guara Roja/Scarlet Macaw) flying over the reserve land of Biosfera Del Rio Platano. The Scarlet Macaw is the national bird of Honduras. Biosfera Del Rio Platano is a natural reserve with an area of 1,300,000 acres and is located on the eastern part of Honduras. In 1982, the Biosfera Del Rio Platano was listed as a UNESCO World Heritage site. Next to the birds is the central bank's seal.
On the watermark area, it features  the independence date of 15 Septiembre 1821 (15.09.1821), the image of BCH (Banco Central De Honduras), a document presumably the independence agreement and a feather pen.
Signatures (L-R):
Presidente/President (Central Bank): Wilfredo Rafael Cerrato Rodriguez
Gerente/Manager: Aracely O'Hara Guillen
Secretaria De Finanzas/Secretary of Finance: Rocio Isabel Tabora Morales

Dimensions: 156.5mm x 67mm

The design on the back of this banknote is just stunning. The colours of the Scarlet Macaw is just beautiful, and the overall design of this note on the back is not overpowered by other security features.
